In the fall of 2008, I made plans for my 2009 season. It should be a run-year and at the Vienna Marathon, I had the 3 hours magical mark in his sights. Maybe not among them, but at least close. And on the way there would still reach old goals, such as the sub 1:30 half marathon and 10km run sub 40 minutes.

The training plan was from the book "Marathon - The best programs" by Runner's World, is designed for 12 weeks and sizes up to 100km. I knew that it is hard, but with the fundamentals of recent years and several Long Jogs in the fall and winter, it should go somehow. That was a mistake, because after 3 weeks I had calves like stone. Everything was too much: too many units per week to high volumes in the first place and the fast intervals! I saw that it was pointless because I too little basis had. The training was shut down totally and the calves loosened up again. The marathon should be a loose run in which I wanted to motivation for future (Hero) collect deeds.

It was my slowest (normal) Marathon, two days later, I still can not walk properly - a nice mix of a broken toe, huge and empty bladder muscles - but it was good.
